Gold recycling methods
Coal in pulp (CIP)
Carbon-in-pulp (CIP) is a gold recovery method in which activated carbon is mixed with a slurry (a liquid containing gold-bearing minerals). This process is typically used for the treatment of ores with high gold content.
Advantages:
- Suitable for large-scale mineral processing.
- It can effectively recover gold from low-grade ores.
- Coal regeneration allows it to be used in multiple cycles, thus reducing costs.
Coal in leaching (CIL)
Carbon-in-leach (CIL) is a process in which activated carbon is added to the ore slurry along with a cyanide solution, and the entire leaching process takes place in a single leaching tank.

- Gold can be extracted from ore slurry more efficiently, especially for ores with high leaching effect.
- You can use less activated carbon in the whole process.

Column carbon (CIC)
The carbon-in-column (CIC) method consists of passing a slurry through a column device filled with activated carbon to prolong the contact time between the gold and the activated carbon, which in turn increases the adsorption efficiency.
